Lasting improvement in our education system begins with understanding families’ experiences as they are today. When we take parents’ perspectives seriously across all communities

and income levels, we are better equipped to focus on the challenges that matter most and the opportunities that can make the greatest difference for students.

That belief is at the heart of our work at Louisiana Kids Matter, and it is what drives the second edition of the Survey of Educational Opportunity in Louisiana. Developed in partnership with 50CAN and Edge Research, this updated survey captures how families are experiencing the education system now, while also allowing us to see where views have shifted since the last edition, published in November 2024.
